| Posted: 13 Feb 2010 09:45 PM PST  SPIC is a simple plugin that allows to display a plugin code (or any other code) in raw format (without executing it). SPIC is very useful when you want to show a code (for example when you want to explain the usage of a new plugin) and you don't want Joomla to execute it. It works by converting the text into bracket into ascii code, so that Joomla can't recognise it as a code. How to use it {spic}your code{/spic} Example: {spic}{edocs}documents/catalogue.pdf,400,200{/edocs}{/spic} The result on the article will be displayed as {edocs}documents/catalogue.pdf,400,200{/edocs} and the code will not be processed. NOTICE: Make sure that SPIC is listed before the plugin that you want to show the code, because otherways the code inside the brackets will be processed by joomla.

| Posted: 13 Feb 2010 04:14 PM PST  We have created a new component for Joomla! 1.5 that allows for the search, display and management of a list of locations on your Joomla Web site. This can be used as a dealer locator, store locator, vendor list or any other type of location directory. The locations can be displayed in a Google Map, Directory List View and Search view. All views can be searched for locations within a configurable distance of a provided postal code. Each location is automatically Geocoded using the address data provided. The system includes a database of thousands of US postal codes and uses Google Geocoding Service to find exact address latitude and longitude data. The Locator Component allows for name, description and address fields and a free form HTML field allowing for a great amount of detail for each location. Include pictures, links or other media for each entry in the database. You can tag locations with one or more custom tags. This allows you to create multiple directories. E.g. tag entries as 'Vendors', then create a menu item that shows only that tag and you have a custom view of only locations tagged with 'Vendor'. You can even choose the map marker image of each tag, allowing, for example, red icons are vendors, blue icons are suppliers etc.

Simply tell MoeTabs what module position to pull from, and MoeTabs will render a nice looking tabbed box with each module set as its' own tab. Works great when combined with MoeScroll Advanced to show a large amount of content in a small space.
