Posted: 12 Apr 2010 01:35 PM PDT

The Email Protector Plug-in is a Joomla! 1.5 plug-in that hides the email addresses on your web site from robots that collect them and send spam. It has the same purpose as the core Joomla content plug-in that comes with the installation of Joomla, but there are some differences. Unlike the core Joomla email cloak plug-in, this handles the whole page, not only articles. This allows you to have email addresses everywhere in the page without worrying, for example, in a Custom HTML module.

deTar

deTarThe deTar tool unpacks a tar.gz Joomla! install package on your server or development workstation. It is a standalone script which uses the PEAR Archive_Tar class to extract the contents of a Joomla! tar.gz install or patch file. Simply place the Joomla! package file and this script in the root directory of your website and run the script from your browser. The script was developed to allow installation on a sever which had no support for zip files and no control panel functionality for installing packages. The script works with both the initial Joomla! 1.5 installation package and the Joomla! 1.5 patch packages. Whilst this script is designed to look for certain features in the package file names - so it can identify the file to install, it can easily be modified to uncompress other tar.gz files.

Enhanced Wrapper

Posted: 12 Apr 2010 01:16 PM PDT

Enhanced WrapperThis module is based on the Wrapper Module in the Joomla! 1.5 package. It is designed to prevent Frame Busting, where the content of the framed web page causes the page to break out of the iFrame created by the Wrapper Module. The Enhanced Wrapper Module includes some additional code in the module template file to prevent Frame Busting by the target website. The module was created to allow users of a website to login via an iFrame to a second (associated) website. When the user logged out of the associated site, the javascript on the associated website broke out of the wrapper (iFrame) and left the user stranded at a login page for that site. With this module installed the Enhanced Wrapper returns the user to the original website when they logout of the associated site. The module works in the same way as the core Wrapper Module except that there is an additional configurable parameter, which specifies the web page the user will be redirected to, in the event that the framed page attempts to break out of the iFrame. If this parameter is not set, the module will by default return the user to your website's home page.

Breadcrumbs Manager

Posted: 12 Apr 2010 07:14 AM PDT

Breadcrumbs ManagerBreadcrumbs Manager is a Joomla breadcrumbs management system. It allows you to fully control the breadcrumbs in your pages. Joomla does not currently provide a way for an administrator/manager to do that without changing the Joomla core files. Breadcrumbs Manager is appropriate for both simple and compex web sites. WHAT YOU CAN DO: * define how your breadcrumbs are assembled using one or more patterns * define different patterns for different sections of your site * reuse the default breadcrumbs set by Joomla (or any third-party component) * set default starting and ending of the breadcrumbs (used for every page) * use any breadcrumbs module you like (including the core Joomla module) HOW IT WORKS: You can control the breadcrumbs by choosing what items(text+link) are present and how those items are ordered. This is called a "breadcrumbs pattern". There are some built-in breadcrumbs items you can include in a pattern. You can also easily define your own items in a simple and intuitive way. Built-in breadcrumbs items include: * current article * current category (links to category blog) * current section (links to section blog) * current menu item (links to the menu) * current menu path * name of the web site (links to the home page) * default Joomla breadcrumbs You can define your custom breadcrumbs parts using: * Text * SQL query * PHP script * Joomla context (combines some Joomla-specific text(name of current category, section, etc.) with a link you define) Example custom item definitions: * by Text – "My Company,http://mycompany.com" - will resolve to "My Company" part of the breadcrumbs which links to the specified address. * by SQL – "SELECT title AS label FROM #__polls WHERE id = [request:id]" – will resolve to the title of the current poll when displaying the poll results page. You can specify link separately. * by PHP – "return new BreadcrumbsItemValue('My Item', 'http://google.com');" – will resolve to a breadcrumbs part labeled "My Item" which links to Google. DOCUMENTATION: User Manual is available from our web site. EVALUATION: Free evaluation is available. To evaluate the product you need to install the "Single Domain" edition. You can evaluate all features of Breadcrumbs Manager for 20 days. NOTE: Breadcrumbs Manager does not come with a breadcrumbs module - it uses low-level Joomla breadcrumbs functionality to modify the breadcrumbs so you can use any breadcrumbs module you like(core breadcrumbs module included). The module will work with Breadcrumbs Manager as long as it uses the standard Joomla way of getting breadcrumbs. NOTE: The "Unlimited domains" edition of the product is now licensed under GPL.
