Extended and dynamic Metatags (date, revisit and author) Posted: 23 Apr 2010 06:19 PM PDT This plugin automatically sets the metatag date to the date the content was last changed or added. In addition it automatically sets the summer- and wintertime difference, sets the author's name and the number of days a search engine should come to visit again. I found it helpful to develop a tool, which dynamically adjusts the date in the metatags, as it was annoying to always change the metatag, one a change or addition to the content had occurred. The final result looks like the second image: Simply enter the values in the plugin (see the first image for details), publish the plugin and position it to on of the first positions of your system plugins. (Order it or give it a specific number accordingly.) Please use the format +02:00 or +00:00 for the time difference, which will be added to the date timestamp. If both time zones are the same (e.g. Cape Town), simply write +02:00 (or +00:00) in both fields. (UTC time zone settings apply. Almost the same as GMT+1 etc.) Standard values will be used, if the parameters are empty. I hope that you find this plugin helpful. Best regards, Kelley P.S. You can/should take those three metatags out of your template, if you had added them manually. (I know that the summer/wintertime calculation is not 100% correct. It will be OK for a few days in the months March and October nevertheless.) ------------ Version: 1.0 - First stable release ------------ Extra hint: I have set it up on my own page to also take into consideration the latest Twitter Tweet time. But this plugin doesn't do this yet as the Twitter modules are all different.

One jQuery Posted: 22 Apr 2010 02:00 PM PDT A very-very simple plugin for Joomla! 1.5 which checks for multiple jQuery instances (loaded by more than one extension perhaps) by a flexible regular expression and if there is more than one of them it leaves the first one (replacing the path with the one defined by the user in the plugin parameters). It also adds jQuery.noConflict(); immediately after this first instance. If you ever had problems with more than one extensions loading jQuery and breaking your site's javascript code, this plugin is definitely something you want to try!

JMaps Google Mapping Suite for SOBI2, CB, XML Files, KML and RSS Posted: 22 Apr 2010 01:57 AM PDT JMaps is a Joomla module with associated plugins for Community Builder (CB) and SOBI2 to allow Google Mapping by either address or by Longitude or Latitude. The JMaps Module looks for Latitude and Longitude first, and then automatically maps by the address fields if the Latitude and Longitude are not present. Even better - if you map by Latitude and Longitude, then your info bubbles will feature the option to "Add Streetview". If the user selects that option, then the Google Streetview drops down in the space below the module. This package includes the JMaps Joomla Module, the SOBI2 Category Display Plugin, the SOBI2 Search Results Mapping Plugin, and the Community Builder Users List Mapping Plugin. These plugins combined with the core JMaps Module provide all of the mapping capabilities detailed below. The JMaps module is available by itself, and in combination with specific plugins for lower prices. You may also buy the plugins individually. The various combinations of options are found below in the Related Products area below the suite on the download site. You may have an unlimited number of instances of the JMaps Module on different pages offering different map views. This package includes the entire JMaps Suite and provides all of the following mapping functionality: 1) SOBI2 Categories - Put the mapped results for any of your categories in a module position on any of your Joomla pages! JMaps can be set to read the entries in a specific SOBI2 Category, and to map those items via Google Maps. You can then display these items anywhere you choose in a Joomla Module position. You can control the start zoom level, give the users controls over the map zoom even the map type. Add a featured field to SOBI2 and show featured entries on a map in a different color, and even a star on the map marker! Keep the featured field as an admin only option, or even make it a user option and sell the right to be featured as an add-on to your directory! The featured option works on either the category display or the search results display. All colors are completely configurable in the module parameters. 2) SOBI2 Search Results - Put the search results from a SOBI2 query in any module position in Joomla! When users look for entries in your SOBI2 directory, they can see them on a map as well! CorFun has long provided a SOBI2 Plugin that works inside the vCards Template to show SOBI2 Search Results on a Google Map. This plugin is still available, and is a good option for sites where the Search Results should be shown within the SOBI2 Template. The JMaps Module adds additional capabilities by being shown in a Joomla Module Position. This allows greater flexibility in positioning the Search Results without needing to change any CSS or other code. JMaps also can show entries in special color as featured items, and can show a star icon on the featured items. Further, JMaps can be used as detailed above to show mapping by SOBI2 Category along w
