| Posted: 05 Mar 2010 04:49 PM PST  The newest version of the Joomla GoogleMap Component is now available for download. The difference between version 1 and version 2 is vast. The backend might seem the same, with a few hardcore addons. However the frontend have been completely redone. Less JavaScript, more server side handling. This provides less code on the page and better speed in general. Usability and design have been improved alongside everything else. IT WAS TIME FOR A CLEAN START! And as many may have noticed, it took a while longer than first anticipated. However I hope it was worth the wait.

Unlike the original legacy plugin which load tones of libraries (these libraries are used to support extensions written for Joomla 1.0.x, not used for Joomla 1.5.x extensions) every time a page is loaded, the advanced legacy plugin will auto detect and only load this legacy libraries on the pages need these libraries. Thefore, It save time, server resources and make your site faster .

This will allow you to install any other joomla components on your site without any limitations that can usually be found in other bridges. * You can switch between "Community-Builder" or "non-Community-Builder". So this version carries both versions. * You can choose the vB-Database manualy, so there is no need to have the forum-path aligned with the Joomla-path. You can synchronize the Joomla-DB with any vB-database no matter on which domain and connected with which database. * If you insert the vB-directory it automatically takes all the database-date from the vB-Config-File.
